winter o9 "mind your manners..."
once
again juliette hogan celebrates her well behaved muse with her winter 2009
collection “mind your manners…”
juliette stays true to her simple clean aesthetic while expanding on the
offering with the inclusion of new tailoring in the form of a waistcoat,
bomber and a modern, feminine take on a tuxedo jacket.
the collection was extremely well received by buyers and media alike
following hogan’s 3rd consecutive showing at air new zealand
fashion week with the floor length bohemian dress worn over a fitted body
suit a particular show stopper. juliette heralded praise for displaying an
increased maturity with her cohesive selection of colour, fabric and shapes.
the smoky palette of dusky pink, indigo blue and black was offset by fresh
ivory silk georgette and merino knit and the light coloured vintage floral
georgette and web silk cotton prints. an abundance of textures across the
fabrics gave the collection real depth from the robust wool felt to the
signature star print georgette. the coral silk lurex jacquard & sheeny luxe
lace offered a touch of glamour to an otherwise matte offering.
hogan continued to experiment with pleating in the form of the coquettish
chiffon ballerina dress, block panelled gin pleat dress and tulip print
cocktail cami dress. however there was a new hard edge running through the
collection with exposed zips on the washed out figure hugging denim jem
dress, and dramatic full length black ann dress.
it’s as if the juliette hogan girl is experimenting with her rebellious
side, in a thoughtful well mannered way of course… |
