ROLE:  Newmarket Store Manager
REPORTS TO:  Area Manager, Business Manager and Juliette Hogan
DIRECT REPORTS:  Newmarket retail staff
HOURS:  35 – 40 hours per week
To drive sales and customer satisfaction to an exceptional standard.
To lead and inspire the retail team to achieve store objectives.
To manage store systems, reporting, staff and store appearance to an exceptional standard.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive selling and customer service standards and staff competence in all areas, to optimise and sustain sales performance through store targets, profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive staff sales incentives
  • Aim to achieve 100% Mystery Shopper results
  • Weekly sales meetings with part time staff
  • Performance manage staff where necessary
  • Review month to date sales against target and develop ways to improve results
  • Send daily email reports on sales, customer feedback and any events on in the area
  • Meet with Sales Manager and Area Manager to review sales achievements and any strategies to put in place
  • Recommend to Area Manager and Business Manager any opportunities to hold special customer events and sales evenings.
  • Seek and continuously develop knowledge and information about competitor activity, and communicate this to relevant departments in the company.
  • Drive and maintain bridesmaid section of the store with the goal to grow bridesmaid sales figures.
  • To manage and motivate Newmarket staff, train and develop staff according to the company policies and procedures
  • To ensure Newmarket staff are trained in accordance to the company sales program with customer service and standards.
  • Complete understanding of stock control and security requirements
  • Product Knowledge training to all staff, creating outfits, mix and match, add ons
  • Hold staff meetings with all staff to continuously review all training and development areas
  • Attend Meetings, contribute to company strategies and policy making as required. Develop personal skills and capability through on-going support and training.
  • Send daily email reports on sales, customer feedback and any events on in the area
  • Manage all cash handling and payment systems in accordance with the company procedures and policies at all times.
  • Ensure daily banking is actioned as per company policy
  • Ensure the store merchandising and layout is to maximise sales, customer satisfaction, and represents the brand well.
  • Manage all stock processing and in store levels, with 100% security awareness at all times. Stock taking to take place monthly in both stores.
  • Stock take counts to be accurate and all staff fully aware of correct procedures
  • End of day procedures are completed as per store closing checklist ready for next day trade
  • Work with Area Manager for any store needs, stationery, stock needs etc
  • Maintain clean and tidy stores at all times
Person Specification:
  • Possesses outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of transferring knowledge to others in a meaningful and successful manner.
  • Knows how to drive and inspire a team to achieve results
  • Possesses professional business acumen, uses business judgement in all situations
  • Has strong logical problem solving skills
  • Has proven success in a Store Management capacity
  • Has the ability to work alone
  • Enthusiastic, dedicated and immaculate personal presentation standards
