BRIDE | FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there a consult fee?

Yes, all our consultations are an hour long and carry a $75 fee which is redeemable on orders over $1000 should you choose to proceed with a purchase.

Can we change silhouette or style of dress? How much autonomy do we have?

We can make slight changes to a silhouette or cut of a dress e.g making neckline lower, taking in the bodice and skirt, changing the fabric of the dress and in some cases, add a slit if style allows. However, we cannot re-design a dress (putting a v neckline on a crew neckline dress).

Do we offer a bespoke service?

Yes we do, we do a handful (5) bespoke gowns a year and this is done with our designer Juliette Hogan. Juliette and the bridal consultant (Mais) will make a wedding dress that is made specifically for you based on the measurements we take on you. Using the JH Collection as a starting point, Juliette and Mais (Bridal Consultant) will help the bride decide every element – from the most flattering silhouette, panel, widths, fullness, to the colors and fabrics, to the way we hand embellish the design.

For more special and one-off designs – Calico Toile is used. A cotton toile is created for the first fitting or more if needed and is then used to develop the initial pattern.

There is a cost for this service which is determined by a number of factors, most of which are listed above.

What is your lead time for standard offering (non-bespoke)?

Our production time is a minimum of 8 weeks, and 12 weeks during peak times. We do need to also factor in a month of fittings.

What is your lead time for Bespoke Wedding Dresses?

As we need to incorporate a few more fittings, we would require a minimum of 16 weeks for production.

How far in advance do I need to make a purchase?

It’s best to allow 12 - 14 weeks before your wedding to place an order. We do need to incorporate one month of fittings to ensure your wedding dress fits you perfectly.

When should I expect to receive my wedding dress?

We usually organise the due date as well as your first and second fittings once you place an order so it’s all sorted. Your gown typically arrives 2 - 4 weeks before your wedding date.

Can I get a swatch of the colour of my dress?

Yes, we can provide a swatch.

PAYMENTS

We require a 50% deposit at the time your order. You will then pay the remaining balance at your final fitting.

How do I pay for my purchase?

We accept all major credit cards, Eftpos and Cash. Credit Card payment per phone and online transfers are also available.  

What are the price ranges for your gowns?

Our wedding dresses start from $1699 - $3699, some are lower depending on style e.g. Silk Cami. Other factors, such as changing the fabric of the dress can affect these prices.  

FITTING

We require a 50% deposit at the time your order. You will then pay the remaining balance at your final fitting.

When shall I schedule my first fitting?

We tend to organise first fittings at the time of purchase. However, We can also contact you when your dress is ready and to schedule a fitting then; Generally that will be 4 - 6 weeks before your wedding.

What should I bring to my first fitting?

The shoes and undergarments you’ll be wearing on your wedding day in order to have your wedding dress properly fit through the bodice, body and hemline.

How many fittings will I need?

Usually, brides require 2 fittings to ensure a perfect look. We require 2 weeks in between fittings for alterations. After the final fitting, we will steam and hang your gown in a garment bag for you to take home or pack for shipping.

Will you ship my dress to my address for me?

Yes, that’s not a problem.

DO YOU OFFER WORLDWIDE SHIPPING?

Yes we ship to most countries around the world, however the price of shipping varies. Please view our shipping terms and conditions here.

WILL I BE CHARGED DUITES / TAXES FOR THESE?

Any local taxes and duties are the responsibility of the purchaser. Juliette Hogan takes no responsibility for any delay in the processing of your purchase should local taxes or duties be applied.

HOW CAN I BE CONFIDENT THAT I AM ORDERING THE RIGHT COLOUR?

Colours will appear different on screens. We recommend purchasing our Swatch Card Pack so that you can ensure that you are choosing the best colour for you. Click here to view. WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT THE COLOURS OR STYLES I HAVE ORDERED?

We are only able to accept changes to your order (size, colour) for 24 hours from the completion of your order online. As all of our bridesmaid dresses are Made-To-Order, we are unable to accept any changes after this point.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL MY ORDER?

Our bridesmaid garments are Made-To-Order, so we are unable to refund orders cancelled after 24 hours from the completion of your order online. We are however pleased to offer the opportunity to exchange or receive a credit against your order (NB. Exchanges and credits can be used against our mainline collection). WHAT HAPPENS IF I RECEIVE THE DRESS AND IT'S NOT RIGHT FOR MY BRIDESMAID?

If you have fit concerns, we recommend contacting us directly to talk through your size and style choices before placing your order.


View our comprehensive Size Guide & Measuring Guide to ensure you are ordering the right size. If you are in between sizes, we recommend going up a size, our garments have been design to allow for minor alterations with your alterations expert and as they are made from a light & fluid fabric will still drape beautifully.

WHAT ARE THE LEAD TIMES FOR THE DRESSES?

Please allow 8 weeks for production and an additional 2 weeks should the production time of your order fall over the Christmas/New Year period. Order acceptance is at the discretion of Juliette Hogan Ltd.

HELP! I AM GETTING MARRIED IN 6 WEEKS. CAN YOU MAKE A BRIDESMAID DRESS FOR ME IN TIME?

Our standard production time is 8 weeks. Please email bridal@juliettehogan.com  to check in to see if we are able to fit you into our production schedule (express orders will incur a surcharge).

CAN YOU CUSTOMISE THE FIT OF THE COLLECTION?

You can MIX+MATCH dress bodices and skirts and the garment can be made in your colour of choice, however we are unable to accommodate custom alterations or hemming to our Bridesmaid collection. Our dresses have been designed so that alterations to the bodice lengths and hemming will be able to be carried out by your alterations expert. CAN YOU HEM THE DRESSES TO MAKE THEM SHORTER FOR ME?

We always recommend deciding the best hem length when wearing the dress on your body. We are unable to accommodate custom alterations or hemming to our Bridesmaid collection. Our dresses have been designed so that alterations to the bodice lengths and hemming will be able to be carried out by your alterations expert.
