2021 marks four years of partnership with Amisfield Bistro & Winery and we are celebrating this with a new and exciting collaboration. We looked to our shared love of exquisite design, food and wine, and found inspiration from the rugged and beautiful environment on which, the Amisfield Bistro and Winery, eloquently sits.
Over the course of 2021, Juliette Hogan & Amisfield, have been working together in a new exciting way to celebrate what we both do best. Moving beyond a simple collaboration, the Juliette Hogan design team joined the harvest in March to work with Amisfield’s wine maker to create a special Amisfield Pinot Noir Rosé Cuvée Juliette Hogan. This tactile and engaging opportunity also provided the inspiration for our next print for the Amisfield uniform and the Cuvée Juliette Hogan wine label that has just launched in November this year.
Juliette’s prints are one of the cornerstones of our brand, and travel has been and always will be a key component in their design process - “I am forever in awe of the transformative power of a strong print. Exploring new places, and time spent in the natural world are when I feel my most inspired, calm and free. My prints aim to express this felt experience – capturing the beauty around me” says Hogan. Hero prints from past seasons draw reference from rock formations in the Utah desert, the night lights of Tokyo and the rugged coastlines of New Zealand to name but a few.
The Harvest Event in March included wine education and fruit harvest with Amisfield winemaker Greg Lane followed by a degustation meal at the Amisfield Bistro later that evening prepared by award winning chef Vaughan Mabee. Along with this, Juliette and Louise, our senior graphic designer, found inspiration from their surroundings, with wildflowers and shrubs growing under and around the vines.
“We are so excited as to how the new Amisfield print has turned out. Created from abstracting a foraged bouquet of vines and wildflowers collected during the Harvest Event at the organic Amisfield Vineyard, it nicely talks to the bio-diversity of the vines as part of a healthy and robust ecosystem and from our perspective it is looking so beautiful!"
Hero-ing Amisifeld’s recent accolade as the Riedel Organic Winery of the Year, the new Amisfield uniform from Juliette Hogan echoes these principles through ethical and sustainable fabric and manufacturing choices.
The uniform and wine release were to be celebrated with a long lunch in November 2021, however Covid restrictions have put a hold on this event until March 2022. However, for those that are able to visit the beautiful Amisfield Bistro you will see the new uniform on the floor from now, as well as the JH Rosé available for purchase from the cellar door and online at amisfield.co.nz.
We are very thankful to share this experience with our JH community, and to share the results of our amazing year with Amisfield.
