jh KNITWEAR

Introducing the JH Knitwear Care Guide. Caring for your warmer layers is essential to make luxurious garments last.

_

JH knitwear ranges from 100% cashmere pieces to fine merino staples. Our collections feature delicate blends and fibres, all calling for special care instructions. These luxurious pieces require gentle care to ensure they preserve their snug feel. This guide will lead you through the do's and don'ts when it comes to caring for your winter woolies.

CASHMERE

100% Cashmere

Softens with wear and good care

3x warmer than wool

100% Cashmere.

_

Cashmere is a luxurious natural fibre produced by the Kashmir goat. It is renowned for its extreme softness, warmth and lustrous quality. Lighter and three times warmer than wool, cashmere knitwear is a winter wardrobe must-have.

Our Clare Sweater is the ultimate in relaxed luxury. A slouchy style, it looks effortless pared back with a skinny jean and sneaker or boot. Layer it over a satin slip dress, like our Sigrid Slip, to carry your silks through to winter. We love to wear ours with our scalloped lace Sonnet Skirt for contrasting texture. As temperatures cool, the Clare Sweater will quickly become your go-to piece!

Our JH Lounge capsule collection comprises of three pieces - a classic relaxed sweater, tailored trackpant and robe. Made from the finest cashmere, these bring a touch of luxe to everyday.

Luxe cotton cashmere blend

Gentle hand-wash

Hypoallergenic

Cotton Cashmere.

_

A luxurious blend of 85% cotton, to retain shape and structure, and 15% cashmere, for beautiful softness. Cotton and cashmere are both naturally hypoallergenic and extremely adaptable to temperature, keeping you warm in winter, yet allowing breathability to keep you cool in the warmer months. You’ll be wearing these pieces all year round!

Perfect for layering, our Luxe Tanks can be worn under jumpsuits and dresses to get more wear out of these dressier pieces. Our LS Luxe T can be worn as a jumper with a printed skirt like our Pleated Skirt in Dapple or Archer Skirt in Prism. Pop a Luxe T in Snow under a blazer or light coat and pair with a tailored pant for a modern take on workwear. For the weekend, we love to wear the Luxe Cami with our JH Denim (instores mid-May).

Caring For Your Cashmere.

_

After wearing your new JH cashmere you may find pills forming. These are caused by loose fibres tangling together as areas of your garment are rubbed during wear. Pills can be removed by hand, by using a de-pilling knitwear comb or a fabric shaver.

We recommend that your JH cashmere is gently hand-washed after it has been worn three or four times, following these simple guidelines:

  • Hand wash in cool water using cashmere shampoo or a similar mild detergent.
  • Gently squeeze the suds through the fabric, taking care not to rub, wring or stretch the garment.
  • Rinse thoroughly but carefully in clean water. Saturated garments should not be lifted before excess water has been gently squeezed out as they may stretch.

MERINO

Great trans-seasonal layering pieces

Easy care with gentle hand wash

Naturally stain resistant

Fine Merino.

_

Merino sheep are one of the world’s oldest and toughest breeds. As a result of living in extreme conditions, the Merino have developed an extraordinary lightweight fleece that allows them to survive hot summers and freezing winters. Merino wool, therefore, perfectly regulates body temperature, helping keep you warm without overheating. Merino knitwear is an excellent choice for everyday wear due to a natural protective outer layer that prevents stains from being absorbed, and because merino tends not to generate static, attracting less dust and lint.

Because of these incredible properties, our fine merino knits will be our go to pieces this winter. We’ll be wearing our Ali and Trudi Polos with trousers and under blazers - as a staple of our winter workwear wardrobe, as well as under or over our dresses to stay snug and on trend as temperatures cool. An effortless solution, our Pamela Polo dress looks chic and elegant worn with our Asher Coat and an ankle boot or loafer.

Pairs perfectly with season prints

Classic Moss Stitch weave

Keeps its shape

Merino Knit.

_

Our Derek Sweater features a moss stitch, a classic textured knitting stitch. It's made by alternating knits and purls every stitch and changing their direction every two rows, creating a subtle basket-weave pattern. Due to its natural elasticity, Merino wool can be stretched without it losing its shape making it the ideal fibre to fashion into heavier and more textured knits.
The Derek Sweater is neater fitting compared to our popular slouch knit. It is available in a range of colours carefully selected to compliment this season’s prints.

Available in five colours. It pairs beautifully with our seasonal prints. Incorporate it into your work wardrobe by wearing over a silk or cotton shirt with a tailored pant, and wear with your favourite denim and the matching scarf to keep warm during the weekend.

Our Moss Stitch Merino is also available as a scarf.

Caring For Your Merino.

Always clean your merino garments before storing – this helps prevent odours, stains and build-up of dirt. Store folded rather than hung.

- Gentle hand wash in lukewarm water using a wool detergent.

- Rinse thoroughly in clean water.

- Smooth the garment back into shape and place flat on a towel - dry naturally in shade.
